Level 1 vs. Level 2 Charging

Every EV comes with a Level 1 cord that plugs into a normal 120V outlet. It works, but it only adds a few miles of range an hour, which rarely keeps up with daily driving. Most homeowners want Level 2.

A Level 2 charger runs on a dedicated 240V circuit, the same kind of power that feeds an electric dryer or range. That charges several times faster, usually filling the battery overnight, so you wake up to a full charge every morning.

Getting there means running a new 240V circuit from your panel to the charger location and mounting the unit, work that requires a licensed electrician and a permit in Florida.

What We Install

  • Tesla Wall Connectors
  • Any J1772 Level 2 charger (ChargePoint, Wallbox, Emporia, Grizzl-E, and more)
  • Hardwired chargers or NEMA 14-50 outlets
  • Dedicated 240V circuits sized to your charger
  • Indoor garage, carport, and outdoor (weather-rated) installs
  • Panel upgrades or load management when capacity is tight

Not sure your panel can handle a charger? We run a load calculation first.

FAQs

Does Your Panel Have Room for a Charger?

A Level 2 charger is one of the largest continuous loads in a home, often pulling 40 to 48 amps. Before we install anything, we run a load calculation on your existing service to confirm there is capacity to add it safely. This is the step a lot of quick installs skip, and it is the one that protects your home.

If the panel is already near its limit, you have options: a panel or service upgrade for more capacity, or a load-management device that automatically throttles the charger when the rest of the house is drawing heavily. We will walk you through what your specific panel needs, with no upsell to gear you do not. For older homes, a panel upgrade often makes sense to do alongside the charger.

EV Charger Installation in Palm Beach & Brevard County

Florida requires a permit and inspection for a new 240V circuit and EV charger. That is a good thing, it means the work is checked by a county inspector and documented in your home's permit history, which matters at resale. We handle the permit application and the inspection from start to finish.

We install home EV chargers throughout West Palm Beach, Lantana, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Wellington, and the rest of Palm Beach County, as well as Palm Bay, Melbourne, Viera, and the Space Coast in Brevard County. Same licensed crew, same permit process, both service areas.
